In addition to her work with WICT, Ms. Sangston supports a number of other organizations and initiatives dedicated to supporting women and minorities, including recently being nominated to the Board of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association and previously serving on the board of the Atlanta Chapter of Cable Positive, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising AIDS awareness and funding AIDS education, research and care. She participates in a variety of mentoring programs, including the Cox Mentoring Program, the Women’s Mentor Program of the J. Mack Robinson College of Business, Georgia State University, and the WICT mentoring program run by the Atlanta Chapter of WICT. Robin also serves as Chair of Cox Communications’ Diversity Council, which represents the over 1600 Cox employees at Cox’s Atlanta headquarters. In 2004, Ms. Sangston was the first recipient of the “Horizon Award for Woman to Watch” awarded by the Atlanta Chapter of WICT at its inaugural Red Letter Awards. Since 2005, Ms. Sangston has been ranked in CableWorld Magazine’s Top 50 Most Influential Women in Cable issue. In 2006, Ms. Sangston received WICT Inc.’s “Woman to Watch” Award at its annual Gala in Washington, D.C. The mother of three active teenagers, she is involved in a variety of community activities, including serving on the Board of The Atlanta Ballet and the Executive Committee of the Board of the Atlanta Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
